Music Review - Teri Aankhen (Non-Filmy)

Teri Aankhein :- Music - Raaj Aashoo, Lyrics - Murli Aggrawal

Not very often do we come across a Non-Filmy Album that has got really good songs & good variety. Teri Aankhen is one such album that consists of really different & unusual songs. It consists of 11 tracks & all of them are unique. Barring Aaja Pyare, i heard them all & was really impressed by music talent of young composer Raaj Aashoo. Now why didn't i hear Aaja Pyare? Simple. I hate Mamta Sharma's voice & singing style & hence just skipped her song. Rest of the album is reallyu very good. Please note that there is nothing magical or extraordinary in Teri Ankhen (except Saiyyan). But the USP of the album is the freshness & the variety. We have mushy romantic Title song, Sufi Saiyaan, Folkish Jee Le Har Pal & Grunge(y) Ya Khuda. Best part is that it boasts of some of the best contemporary bollywood singers like Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Javed Ali & Zubeen Garg! Below is the brief review of the 10 songs that i heard & liked.

1. Teri Aankhen :- Singer(s) - Kunal Ganjawala & Seepi Jha
The title song gives the album a perfect kick-start. Very soft, romantic, sugar-filled melodious song. Sung in typical Kunal voice, this leaves its impression right from the beginning. Any lover will like this straightaway & start humming to her love-interest :)

2. Teri Aankhen (Remix) :- Singer(s) - Kunal Ganjawala, Bob & Seepi JhaSame as its original version but has got added electronic flavour & english Rap by Bob. Goes well with the song. Really likeable version.

3. Ya Khuda :- Singer - Zubeen Garg
Now this is real surprise element. An entirely different piece of music that maintains its pace throughout the length. Starts off wid nice sounding Piano sounds & typical Zubeen Garg aalaaps. Very catchy tune & superb lyrics are the main attentions. This one is a grunge number that grows on you. A blue feeling is noticeable. Listen to this when you're feeling low. Kudos to composer for this wonderful song.

4. Kehta Hai Dil :- Singer - Shaan
This is tailor-made for Shaan. Kicks off with Piano chords that gradually get mixed with Shaan's silky voice. Again a romantic number that will appeal to all lovers. Tuneful melody & engaging lyrics. Full marks to composer Raaj Aashoo.

5. Na Ye Pyaar Hai :- Singer - Javed Ali
This one again has a blue feeling, though its not completely sentimental. Kicks off with sweet flute notes. A very unique romantic number that consists of combination of drums, distorted guitars & flutes. Very appealing melody. Lyrics could have been better. Javed Ali's voice always delivers. Listen to this for its unique flute & Rock fusion.

6. Jee Le Har Pal :- Singer(s) - Sunidhi Chauhan & Raja Hassan
This song really exposes composers great talent. Starts off with Raja Hassan crooning in typical Rajasthani Folk style that amalgamates with Rock'ish Sunidhi Chauhan vocals. This song deserves special mention for its unique fusion of Folk with Rock.

7. Rabba Ve :- Singer - Altamash
Now we have a Sufi Rock number. Not very different from any of the Sufi-Rock songs that you have heard. Typical middle-east tunes that melt with some Blues lyrics. USP of this is the choice of singer. Altamash sounds really good.

8. Allah Mere Maula :- Singer - Krishna
Krishna has got such a powerful voice that can lift the mood straightaway. This song uses his voice quite well. This again is a Sufi number fused with Indian melody. Grows on you gradually. Composer shows a lot of variety. Lyrics are very simple & effective.

9. Jab Se Tum :- Singer - Nikhil D'souza
Again a beautiful melodious tuneful song. Catchy lyrics & tunes provide a soothing ear experience. Very subtle melody, must say. Simple & beautiful.

10. Saiyyan :- Singer - Shilpa Rao
This ends the album & is certainly the best out of the 10 songs. No words to explain this. Listen to this & experience for yourself. Soft, subtle, gentle, beautiful, tuneful, earthy & soulful. Go for it. Get mesmerized.

Songs To Tell Your Love She Is Beautiful - My Favorites

Your girl is beautiful. You like her everything. Her eyes, face, smile, the way she speaks, the way she walks & what not? Today, I present a list of a few songs (both Hindi & English) that just beautifully describe HER beauty. It of course, is in my opinion & may not necessarily excite you. Like I always say, give songs their time to grow on you. Don't write it off straight away.  I am not including James Blunt's You're Beautiful as I have not heard that song properly. Also, Chaudahvin Ka Chaand doesn't feature here since am not very much into old songs. So, below is the list of my favourite songs that I hear to praise her beauty, in no particular order. 1. Main Agar Kahoon (Om Shanti Om) - Sonu Nigam & Shreya Ghoshal. Main agar kahoon tumsa haseen, kaaynaat mein nahin hai kahin, taareef ye bhi to sach mein kuchh bhi nahin. No need to explain anything. She indeed is beautiful & this song seconds that. 2. Ek Ladki To Dekh

Hindi Songs With Key-change!

Probably the first post of its kind (once again)! This very post talks about key-change in Hindi songs. What is a key-change all about? Well, click the link in the line above & listen to the songs there. You will notice a sudden change in sound towards the end. That's key-change for you. While most of the western-style music relies on it (not necessarily), its a rare phenomena in Hindi songs just like this . If you're keen listener, you'll be able to feel the difference in sound aka the key! Below are such very few Hindi songs. 1. Chup Chup Ke - Movie:- Rush | Music: - Pritam 2. Hum Sey - Movie:- Humse Hai Jahan | Music:- Siddharth - Suhas Siddharth - Suhas are known for their Rock influenced music & vocalist Suraj Jaggan, too, is known for his Rock influenced vocals. Powerful voice, though melody doesn't impress much. Lyrics are cliched as well. But I like it for that KEY-CHANGE! 3. Tum Ho Mera Pyaar - Movie:- Haunted 3D | Music:- Chirantan B

Axwell Λ Ingrosso - Dreamer

Swedish duo  Axwell Λ Ingrosso ( who were 2/3rd of legendary Progressive House trio Swedish House Mafia ) made their comeback in 2014 with a new single called Something New . I am not counting the debut EP X4 here. Something New quickly became my top favourite & I still consider it the best track they have ever produced. I can even say Something New is one of my all-time favourites across all the genres. But this post is not about Something New . It is about something new ;) So, I am talking about their another single Dreamer from their debut album More Than You Know . I first heard the song when I was on my first Europe trip & it is one of the reasons why I love this song so much. It is hard for me not to associate music with time! There is an interesting story about it.  Axwell Λ Ingrosso released a teaser of Dreamer during Amsterdam Dance Event 2016 ( ADE ) at Heineken Music Hall. And since the song is dramatically catchy & it also reminded people of good
