This week picks - Doin' Ok Doin' Alright & Take Me To Your Heart

Life is indeed a roller coaster ride. It has its ups & downs (in my case its more downs than ups). Anyways, 2 days back I chanced upon 2 songs from Magnus Carlsson's album Pop Galaxy. Both are written & produced by Pitchline ( Swedish duo of Matthias Kellenberger & Andreas Berlin ). Pitchline are known for their characteristic style of production. In one word, its 80's disco style. More on that later. Both the songs are opposite to each other in their sounds. Below is their brief description. 1. Doin' Ok Doin' Alright - (no youtube video available) Perfect remedy for your broken heart (yes, I deal a lot in such things). When you're down & want to bounce back strong, this song will help you to. Melody & production are not typical Pitchline. Beautiful ballad but a peppier one. Soothing, in one word. 2. Take Me To Your Heart - This one is typical Pitchline production song. Upbeat, slightly up-tempo &  perfect. You will love its verses ...

Pick of the Week - "Feelgood" by Ola & "Viva La Vida" by Darin

Well, its been quite some time that I hadn't written any post here. Been suffering from mood-swings for past many months & now finally I have realised that its time to let go of the people for whom I mean nothing but an irritating, boring, soulless lad. Enough said. Today I present 2 songs that caught my attention when I was going to my office yesterday. One is an up-tempo, upbeat, full of life summer pop number. Other is a mid-tempo, breezy pop-ballad. Both are just opposite to each-other. Below is the description. Read on. "Feelgood" by Ola Ola is arguably the best male pop singer in Sweden at the moment. His music is massive, melodic & lively (so many #1 singles is the proof). He may have been overshadowed by fellow similar young singers like Eric Saade or Danny Saucedo but his sound is definitely better. Wont run into controversies, though. Feelgood is a kind of song that you will like instantly. It has that upbeat feel that will set your mood right stra...

Song of the Week - "Hero" by Charlotte Perrelli

Year is about to pass by & what a great year it has been for me as far as music is concerned. Got to listen to some of the most amazing artists. Found a great music genre Schlager that just blew my head off. Presenting you an absolute Schlager gem Hero performed by Swedish pop-singer Charlotte Perrelli & composed by great Swedish composer Fredrik Kempe . How do I describe this beauty? The song is pure bliss. With a hint of 80's pop sounds in the background, Hero is magical in leaving its impression on mind. Composition is brilliant, just brilliant. Arrangements are mind-blowing & singing is top notch. Been listening to it for past 6 months & haven't been able to get it off my head. Yes, its that addictive. You'll definitely appreciate Perrelli's high pitched singing. The key-change towards the end is awesome. Fredrik seems to have put all his efforts in the arrangement. Unforgettable. The bridge is perhaps the best part of this song. Such an upbea...

Song of the week - Marching (In the Name of Love)

Hi Friends!! From this week, I am going to start Song of the Week posts. Since I keep on exploring new music everytime, I have decided to share with all music fans if i come across something exciting! These days I am totally addicted to Swedish music artists & am listening to them day in & day out. So presenting a love song that will sure please you & make you hum it again & again. Its name is Marching (In the Name of Love) & is performed by Sweden's very favorite Eric Saade . You need to give it a few hearings before it grows on you. The song has lovely melody & orchestration is just beautiful. You might feel its very similar to Without You feat. Usher  by David Guetta . But still, Marching is pure bliss once its grown on you. Singing is good, melody is perfect & lyrics are apt. Watch the video below.
