"Then a wise man came up & he said, I see you're sad, go back & then beg for the love you had.
Stranger saved my life tonight, I need my girl, I love her, yes I do.
Stranger saved my soul tonight, turned my life around."
A Stranger Saved My Life Tonight is a song from the album MZW sung by Mans Zelmerlow. It is written by Fredrik Kempe & lyrics are by Fredrik himself along with Mans. MZW peaked to # 1 on Swedish Albums Chart. Since its melody is from a person who has given immensely popular chart busters like Popular, Begging along with several others, one can expect Stranger to be in the same league (tune-wise). And Stranger just lives upto that expectation. It even crosses that owing to its pure melody, subtle production, wonderful lyrics & heartfelt singing. Stranger is very different from Fredrik's favorite genre i.e. Electropop or Schlager. This time he writes something that warms your heart.
Gorgeous Piano sounds act as intro that sets the slow pace of this ballad. Verse is beautiful & catchy. Chorus, again, is song's highlight. Post-chorus is even more appealing. Lyrics stand out throughout. Orchestration is minimal but those drums & cymbals sound way too good. Middle 8 is even more heart-melting. And then, that KEY-CHANGE in the last chorus!!! Its AMAZING!!!! Drums-Cymbals giving it a dramatic kick. Best part of the song. It dramatically changes the already beautiful mood of this ultra superb ballad. One of the best compositions by Fredrik Kempe. Deserves much appreciation. You wont be able to say its by the same man who gave Popular or Begging. Outro is subtle that perfectly ends this gem.
