My Favorite Songs By Avicii

Being into Swedish music & not following Avicii is impossible. I always wonder how a self-made musician turned into World's #3 DJ. His transition from Sunshine to Wake Me Up is very impressive & I can't help but admire him more & more. This post includes his songs that I like the most. 1. Hey Brother - Song dedicated to US soldiers who lost their lives in Vietnam war. Song dedicated to all the martyrs. Song dedicated to every soldier. A beautiful music video. That's Hey Brother. Chorus is addictive. Quite catchy.   2. Lay Me Down - Very very catchy chorus, great piece of melody & amazing beats. Inspiring lyrics as well. Imagine this kind of pulsating music, thousands of people dancing to it & Avicii performing the song live. That's what we have in the official video below.   3. Levels - Typical Avicii stuff. Outstanding arrangements & production.    4. Sunshine - Written & Produced along-with David Guetta, this one is a

"Till The End" - Ola Svensson

Its been a rather long time since I last wrote something here. This one is the first post this year. This certainly doesn't mean I didn't find anything worth sharing this year. I found some amazing artists, songs & albums but didn't really find the motivation to share them. Anyways, today I am posting an old song called "Till The End" sung by Swedish singer Ola Svensson. Till The End is a song from Ola's debut album "Given To Fly" which was released in 2006 & went on to grab #1 spot in Swedish Album's Chart. Ola's is a no stranger here. I already wrote about his song Feelgood last year. Below is what "Till The End" is. As the name suggests, Till The End is about a boy who has been rejected by his girl but he won't let go of his feelings for her. He will change himself to be the one she wants & he will be with her forever. Sounds interesting, hmm!! Its beautiful piano intro itself describes what you can expect fro

This week picks - Doin' Ok Doin' Alright & Take Me To Your Heart

Life is indeed a roller coaster ride. It has its ups & downs (in my case its more downs than ups). Anyways, 2 days back I chanced upon 2 songs from Magnus Carlsson's album Pop Galaxy. Both are written & produced by Pitchline ( Swedish duo of Matthias Kellenberger & Andreas Berlin ). Pitchline are known for their characteristic style of production. In one word, its 80's disco style. More on that later. Both the songs are opposite to each other in their sounds. Below is their brief description. 1. Doin' Ok Doin' Alright - (no youtube video available) Perfect remedy for your broken heart (yes, I deal a lot in such things). When you're down & want to bounce back strong, this song will help you to. Melody & production are not typical Pitchline. Beautiful ballad but a peppier one. Soothing, in one word. 2. Take Me To Your Heart - This one is typical Pitchline production song. Upbeat, slightly up-tempo &  perfect. You will love its verses &

Gulon Mein (Upbeat Version) - A song by KK that deserves special mention

KK is my most favorite singer, those who know me know this. I have almost all the Hindi songs that he has sung apart from a few Telugu ones as well. One thing that defines him is his penchant for QUALITY & not quantity. That is the reason you'll hardly find any of his songs that lacks melody. Enough said. From today, I have decided to include posts dedicated entirely to some of the most beautiful, melodious Hindi songs of my liking. And the list kicks off with KK's best song Gulon Mein (Upbeat Version) . I wont spoil its beauty by going too technical (I am myself not an expert). I want you all to listen to this gem & go high. Ofcourse I will be discussing it below a bit. Gulon Mein (Upbeat Version), as the name suggests, is an upbeat soft-rock song from the movie Sikandar. Its composed by brilliant Sandesh Shandilya with lyrics by Neelesh Misra (of "Yaadon Ka Idiot Box" fame). Ofcourse Chorus lines are from famous ghazal Gulon Mein sung by great Mehndi Ha

"Broken Parts" - Another beautiful piece of Balladry by Mans Zelmerlow

Is it me only or really Mans Zelmerlow sings ballads better than others? He is brilliant in his usual schlager-pop but is incomparable when it comes to ballads. Listen to his My Mistake or Stranger Saved My Life & you'll notice he sounds so good there. Today, I present another gem of a ballad, a single from his forth-coming album Barcelona Sessions, Broken Parts .  Broken Parts is pure bliss from its melodious intro till the end. Ballads hardly have much scope for production & this one is no exception. Almost entire song is carried out on vocals. Those subtle drum beats, bass & piano sounds create magic altogether. Broken Parts is for those who are broken-hearted (yeah, once again!) Its a kind of song that gives me courage to move on (yes, I wont be waiting for a certain thing now). So if you're looking for a song that is less on noise & more on melody, plus a song that lifts you up, go for Broken Part. It will make you feel better (once you get addicted to

2 International sounding songs by Fredrik Kempe

Fredrik Kempe , as we all know is a renowned Swedish songwriter. And not just a songwriter, he is also a lyricist & a singer. While he has enjoyed great success in Sweden for more than a decade, he has had little recognition outside it. He still is a big name in European or should I say Scandinavian & neighboring countries. But he has not seen much success in US. I don't mean he is not known there but I guess US people don't really embrace Schlager or Schlager-pop. Today I present 2 songs of his that are entirely different from his usual work & have got an International touch. Read on. 1. Little Braveheart by Charlotte Perrelli & Kate Ryan. Massive chorus, even more massive production & high-octane singing define Little Braveheart. Its a song from Charlotte Perrelli's album The Girl & is truly an International dance-pop number with dubstep in the middle-eight! Believe me its chorus is so massive & instantly catchy that you will start
